Review 6/24/2009
Well, I just recently signed up for this company and thought as most would've that maybe it's ok, maybe it's legit and maybe this company is going to do what is expected of them in order to get new clients and maintain a healthy business. I registered and made my first purchase for a laptop. After comparing the prices to a laptop that someone else had just purchased i went online to do my "research". Before i wasn't able to get the information on the laptop to make comparisons because i needed a specific model number. I being the genius that I am located it at the bottom of the details page on www.venue.com under the order. I put the manufacturer's name and then model number into the search bar...long behold sites popped up with offering this same laptop for 450.00 bucks less than the one i just "purchased" through www.venue.com. The price of buying it direct is even cheaper w/taxes and shipping charges than www.venue.com. I tried to cancel my order but the cancel page of their website is inaccessible right now. I tried emailing and have yet to get a response back from them. I've talked to a customer service rep. about my new discovery and was told that " venue is offering a plan that allows you to pay a fixed amount for the product that's why the price is what it is...." etc. I then made it a point to take that same generalized theory on how they run their business and apply it not to a person using their Venue card but to a person using their own credit card. If venue only allows fixed payments to members that use their card and that's why they overprice products. Then why would a person who is not using a venue card, that's not under a fixed payment plan be charged to their credit card the very same over priced product??? I was then put on hold while the team of "geniuses" try to figure it out. After the brief hold, i was told that it was too late to cancel because it has tbeen shipped...ok well what is the shipping information? "we don't know what it is, we don't have that information yet and we won't until the product is shipped and to cancel it you would have to pay the shipping fee of 40.00 bucks" which to me is more of taking a drop of rain than a bullet from this company. They don't know who their associates are..they don't know any shipping information...vendors information to provide to the customer...they over price merchandise ...i mean 69 bucks for perfume that cost 30 plus they want to add finance/interests fees wow...what a company...so my question to myself is "do i wait and accept the laptop that may show up to my door god knows when and even IF i receive the labels i'll still be charged cancellation fees plus who knows whatever other charges for this over priced product or do i just make the payments up to the RETAIL price of the product and then just say efff it,take a hit to my credit score and let them eat the rest of the price?" One must shouldn't think about stuff like that when it comes to a business deal. Their terms and conditions policy might be tight but any deception on their part to abuse the relationship between them in the consumer/client to me is a breach of contract. I think that more people need to come forward with their experiences with this company and take a stand. By the way have any of you ever heard of a company called peachtree.com from my research online customers are saying that it used to be their old company name and it's the name of the company on it's shipping labels.
