Stay away from The Puppy Stop pet store located in Coral Springs!!! A few weeks ago my wife, 10 year old daughter, and I went into the Puppy Stop (as we have been doing for years) to take a look at the puppies. We went from cage to cage and my daughter simply held out her hand for the puppies to smell and we were told “do not stick your hands in the puppies’ mouths”, mind you they were inside a metal cage and my daughter was not sticking her hands or her fingers in any of the puppies’ mouths, she knows better. We continued to look around and we decided to leave as the owner’s attitude (an older lady with curly reddish/brown hair who I assume is named “Linda”) told my daughter “enough already, stop touching the dogs”, my daughter was visibly upset when she came outside and I asked her what was wrong, when she told me I went back to confront the owner. I simply walked back in and told the owner that “I really did not appreciate what you said to my daughter”, at that point the owner unleashed a barrage of obscenities at me and told me to “get the f*ck out of my store, assh*le”, I congratulated her on how well she is running her business and I wished her luck. Unfortunately there was another lady with a young child in the store at the time so I was unable to say what was on my mind, I took the high road and walked away. What this business owner fails to realize is that it is the kids who basically sell these puppies; I do not know too many adults who walk into a pet store anxiously anticipating the purchase of a new dog. My daughter (who is a true animal lover) has been traumatized since this experience; I cannot believe that the owner of a business would talk to a 10 year old child in that manner. This explains why this pet store is ALWAYS empty, how can you tell a child to not touch a puppy or at least allow the puppy to smell your hand??? We also noticed that the behavior of the dogs was quite strange; they all seemed to cower when approached by people, a Wheaton Terrier in particular. Imagine, if the owner of the store treats a human being the way she treated my daughter and I, I can only imagine how she treats the poor and unfortunate animals in her care.
