I purchased a Golden Retriever pup from here in 2005. When I brought her home, I realized my 12 week old puppy was very sick, and I called Precious Pup. They sent me to their vet (Jupiter Animal Village)and said there was no charge. This vet said she just had a little cold like humans get, after she viewed my pup's chest X RAY. The vet gave me antibiotics for her for 2 weeks. She was getting worse, then another 2 weeks of antibiotics. I finally took her to a different vet of my own choice and found out that my dog had full blown pneumonia and parasites! I was outraged. I spent thousands of dollars in getting her well again, and she has been chronically ill for 6 years now.
Precious Pup would not reimburse me for any medical costs. But after I contacted the Better Business Bureau, they said I could return the pup for a refund! I was shocked. I had already fell in love with this dog and cared for her, and brought her back to as healthy as she can be. I asked them to refund me the money I paid for the dog, and reluctantly, the owner did. She was very nasty with me, and made me sign a form to state they are not responsible for any of the dog's medical bills, before releasing me the check for $800.00. I spent more than that in the first 2 months on her medical care, with the first being free for me by going to "their" vet.
I honestly recommend never buying a puppy from this store.. no matter how cute and sweet they may look. My dog is chronically sick, costing me a lot of money in medical care for her every other month or so for the last 6 years. I love her to death, she is as sweet as can be. But she has never been healthy, really. She has chronic respiratory issues, chronic bloody diarrhea, and skin problems. I do not feel that this establishment takes care of the animals they have and that it is part of a puppy farm. Get your pets from a trusted breeder. Not a store, especially... not this one.
