Expert and Compassionate Service at Activus Home Loans
To: Trust Link April 12th, 2018 I want to thank the expert staff at Activus Home Loans for steering us through a refinance on our home in an expedited manner. Activus, and Charles Bedell in particular, served our interests with acuity, correct guidance, and continual contact as we went through the process. The Chronos Title Team and Everest Escrow also assisted in a helpful manner. Many refinances (we have done about 7 on various properties we have owned over time) have been a complete nightmare-- with staff personnel that were slow to respond to data submittals, and hesitant or non-responsive by email or phone to questions. Activus and Charles Bedell and his staff are quite exceptionally the opposite and have enabled us to complete our refinance, on a potentially difficult to fund property in a rural area, always functioning as problem solver, not problem creator, like so many of our experiences with refinance staff. Many of our past refinance efforts have been marred by lack of patience by staff, slow performance, lack of communication, and in some cases, arrogance, which is hard to imagine but true. The Activus Team, under Charles Bedell's leadership, anticipated problems, provided excellent guidance, was entirely up to date with the proper steps to take to maximize our home interest deduction as a result of changes to Tax Law by the Republican Leadership and Trump. We never felt pressured, but were drawn into the process by Charles's consummate professionalism, humor, confidence and explanatory power. While undertaking an approval through Activus, we also had two other loan options in process, one a reverse mortgage, the other a bank loan mortgage, and neither loan process advanced promptly after an exceptionally grueling, data heavy, and laborious process of submitting documents, hiring appraisers, providing financial background, amending title and the rest of what one has come to expect from a typical bank loan process. Our experience with Charles Bedell and Activus was entirely the opposite, and was the most smooth, dutifully executed and fully thought through process we have engaged in during our years of owning property and a home. Charles was always one step ahead, unlike the staff associated with the other two mortgages we were considering, which were served by staff that was continually one step behind, non-responsive, and email illiterate. Providing documentation for a loan application is and should be a team effort combining the applicant and the loan processor in a single motivated mind-set. Charles and the Activus team was standard setting in this regard, and have raised our expectations for the refinance process, which, frankly, we were dreading based on our first several experiences last year. While older people may have experience at hand, they are also slower to respond usually to data requests; we are no different than other older couples and felt that in Charles Bedell and his team, we always had an advocate, pressing us forward and assisting us with the often difficult process of information transfer, which may be a burden on older folks as we are just not as computer savvy as the generations to follow. However, Charles assisted us with providing a good fit between our financial method of operation and the data needs of the lender, all of which are understandable but often difficult to adapt to relative to information transfer. Every family has a way of managing through retirement demands, and make no mistake, retirement is demanding in many ways as one's aptitudes and abilities slow down and require more assistance to meet the demands of modern finance. Charles was expert at handling this issue, never made us feel out of the ordinary or difficult, and he never expressed any frustration with the process we mutually were engaged in. Borrowers often forget that the challenge to meet the demands of escrow, title and lenders can be difficult for staff and for the customer. Charles smoothed these demands so we felt that the process would actually complete, unlike our other experiences with lenders this year, while we were working with to finalize a loan in a credit and interest rate situation that is always shifting, at present at least. Again we want to thank the Activus team, and particularly Charles Bedell, for his comprehensive and professional work on our loan. It was the most pleasant and efficient application process we have ever experienced. This firm, and Charles Bedell inparticular, deserves a five star rating for being superb facilitators.
